Agilent Seahorse XFe24

The Agilent Seahorse XFe24 Analyzer measures real-time cellular metabolism by quantifying oxygen consumption rate (OCR) and extracellular acidification rate (ECAR) in live cells or tissue samples. These parameters reflect mitochondrial respiration and glycolysis, respectively.
The Seahorse XFe24 can be used to:
-
Characterize mitochondrial function (e.g., basal respiration, ATP production, maximal respiratory capacity).
-
Assess glycolytic activity and capacity under various conditions.
-
Investigate how nutrients, hormones, or drugs shift metabolic pathways in isolated cells (e.g., hepatocytes, adipocytes, muscle cells) or even ex vivo tissues like muscle fibers or islets.
It's a powerful tool for dissecting cellular bioenergetics and understanding how metabolic flexibility or dysfunction underlies disease phenotypes.
